Megan's story

“My CES diagnosis and emergency surgery happened in June 2022 which left me with nerve damage affecting my legs and bladder.

Eight months later I am enjoying my first holiday and living my best life in Egypt. I’ve had to do my holiday a bit differently, such as booking through a travel agent to ensure the hotel suited my needs.

I had to make sure it was accessible with the right adaptations and booking assistance at the airport. I can’t party like I used to, but I’ve enjoyed watching shows, the odd cocktail, sunbathing and swimming which has been fantastic physiotherapy.

I couldn’t imagine life how it is now, when I was being nursed in bed after surgery and taking those first tentative steps on crutches. Now, I only need one crutch and I hope one day to not need any.”
