2022 Charity Impact Statement

2022 proved to be another successful, productive year for the charity. The information below highlights our main achievements and the the positive impact we had on the CES community in 2022

  • Delivered Red Flag training and lived experience to student doctors at Oxford John Moores and Aston Universities for the second year running as part of the study modules throughout the year to approx. 180 student doctors.
  • We have grown our newsletter subscription to 1850 subscribers and have 3950 members in our online support group.
  • We have dealt with over 900 referrals via the website and charity helpline.
  • We have referred and funded 17 CES patients for Psychosexual therapy.
  • We have delivered 12 face to face support group meetings across the UK, including one Support for all social residential, supporting approx. 70 CES patients face to face.
  • We have recruited 6 CES Buddy volunteers and have referred 6 patients to them for one to one peer support
  • We have delivered online physiotherapy and psychosexual Q&A sessions
  • We held our third CES Awareness Day on October 1st and published our charity book “The Lost Tribe” which has sold 279 copies to date and was No. 1 in the Amazon Living with Disability rankings
  • We have learned from the HSIB report that our news story with Clive Coleman in 2019 was instrumental in launching a new investigation into the incidence of CES and the recommendation for a new national pathway
  • We have been invited to join the MSK Bestcollaborative working group for the new CES pathway to be published in the New Year
  • We won Silver for the People’s Choice Charity Film Awards in March this year for our CES film 24 hours changed my life forever – now viewed 4500 times
